INDIA: SOCIALIST PARTY DEMANDS CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT POLICY
Nagpur (India): A meeting of Samajawadi Janaparishad National executive Committee was held on February 29- March 2, 2008 at India Peace Centre Nagpur.
The meeting took various decisions including to contest elections in the next Lok Sabha and assembly elections of various states. Around Ten Lok Sabha Seats will be contested. The election plan and strategy will be decided in the national council meeting on 20, 21, 22 and 23 May 2008 at Baltra Road, Ballia, U.P. on the detailed reports of the state units.
The party is planning to conduct a Bharath Yatra for spreading the message of a building up of a ‘Naya Bharat’. The meeting also took decisions on various organizational matters and adopted resolutions including the condolence in the death of Baba Amte, Justice H.R. Khanna, Dr. Rajendra Vora, Sagar Singh, Bibin Bihari Singh and Niranjan Yadav.
The meeting was presided over by President Sunil. Senior Socialist leader Pannalal Surana, General Secretary Lingaraj Vice Presidents Sanjeev Sane, Joshy Jacob, Organisational Secretary Dr. Somnath Tripathy, Adv. Nisha Shivurkar, Shivpoojan Singh, Viswanatha Bagi, Subhash Lomte, Adv. Praveen Wagh, Aswanikumar Shukla, J.P. Singh, V.K. Varma, Vilas Bhongade, Chandrabhooshan Chowdhari, Vikrama Maurya, Ranjith Roy, Shmeem Anurag, Adv. Sheoji Singh, Dr. Santhubhai Santh, Rabisankar Pradhan, Prof. Sudheer Deshmukh, Subhash Gaikvad were present and deliberated in the meeting.
