Socialist leader Kishor Pawar no more

SakaalTimes Correspondent Thursday, January 03, 2013  PUNE: Veteran socialist and trade union leader Kishor Pawar (87) died in a city hospital after a prolonged illness at around 7.30 am on Wednesday. Pawar had participated in the freedom struggle, Hyderabad liberation and Goa Liberation movements. He was associated with the Rashtra Seva Dal and was a part of the Samyukta Maharashtra movement. Pawar worked closely with people residing in the border areas like Belgaum in Karnataka and joined the movement to merge these places in Maharashtra. Pawar had contested elections from Konkan region of the State. He was leader of the sugarcane workers and led the Kopargoan Taluka Sakhar Kamgar Sabha and Baramati Sakhar Kamgar Sabha. He was also associated with the Hindu Mazdoor Sabha and was instrumental in delivering justice to many sugarcane workers. He had also worked for the SM Joshi Socialist Foundation and Nanasaheb Goray Academy. He is survived by two sons and three daughters.

विज्ञापन किशोर पवार/ Kishore Pawar Photo courtesy of Loksatta पीटीआई-भाषा संवाददाता पुणे, दो जनवरी :भाषा: वयोवृद्ध समाजवादी और ट्रेड यूनियन नेता किशोर पवार का आज यहां उम्र संबंधी समस्याओं के चलते एक अस्पताल में निधन हो गया। अस्पताल के सूत्रों ने बताया कि 86 वर्षीय पवार का पिछले एक माह से इलाज चल रहा था। उन्हें बीती रात वेन्टीलेटर पर डाला गया था। आज सुबह उन्होंने आखिरी सांस ली। सामाजिक मुद्दों और ट्रेड यूनियन से जुड़े मुद्दों को उठाने वाले पवार ने हैदराबाद और गोवा में स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में तथा संयुक्त महाराष्ट्र आंदोलन में भाग लिया था। courtesy: भाषा

Veteran trade unionist Kishore Pawar passes away

Source: The Times Of India PTI Pune, Jan 2: Veteran socialist and trade union leader Kishore Pawar died in a hospital here today due to old age-related ailments. Pawar (86), who had been undergoing treatment for the last one month, was put on ventilator support last night, hospital sources said, adding that he passed away this morning. Known for his strong commitment to various social causes and trade union issues, Pawar had participated in Hyderabad and Goa freedom struggle as well as the Samyukta Maharashtra movement.
